With many people traveling to see family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas and others running errands, it can get quite hectic. With these tips, driving will be a piece of cake (or should we say pie). 



Tip #1: Avoid Driving During Rush Hour
If your schedule is flexible this time around, we recommend getting out of the house early to avoid the afternoon rush. When people head out of town for the holidays, they tend to do it after work.

Tip #2: Get Some Rest
If you have a long road trip ahead of you for the holidays, the driver must get a good night's rest before. Driving while sleepy can be just as dangerous as driving intoxicated. If you’re struggling to keep your eyes open on the road, we recommend switching off with another passenger. Or pull over to a rest stop to recharge.

Tip #3: Avoid Distracted Driving
Even with stricter traffic laws, people still think they can get away with texting and driving. To get you and your loved ones safe, please keep away from your cell phone. If you need help pulling up directions or have a text to reply to, pull over or get help from another passenger. 

Tip #4: Don’t Follow Too Closely Behind Others
This is the most prominent mistake people make on the freeway. Whether you’re traveling at high speeds or inching up in traffic, make sure you leave ample space between the front of your car and the vehicle ahead of you. The cushion gives you extra time to react and brake abruptly if necessary.
